Julia Smith
"Colors and shapes, movement and jumping all over the place, that's what the soul of the cities are all about."

Represented by Verse Gallery.
Julia Smith (1970, Los Angeles) is a California based artist. Her formal education took place at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in Mexico City, as well as the University of Minnesota, and California State University Dominguez Hills. She first learned art from her mother who was a professional artist, and her mother’s friends, also artists. Later she became a fashion designer, caterer, educator and visual artist. She delights to add art and design to everything.
One thing that characterizes her artwork is meticulous attention to detail and luminosity – the interplay with art, through the use of matte, enamel and metallic paints, with drawn-in detailing.
Her works are dynamic, responding to light as the viewer moves around them. Her works include quilt and fiber art. Larger works include tile mosaic arts, designing tiny homes and spaces, as well as swimming pool art.
